As a constituent and supporter of Zero Hour, I’m writing to ask whether you will join fellow MPs in adding your name to Early Day Motion 1184 in support of the Climate and Nature Bill.
In January, the Bill reached its second reading, but for an issue so central to our health, economy, and long-term future, four hours of debate is not nearly enough. We are facing the greatest global challenge of our generation, yet we still lack a joined-up strategy to meet it.
After the adjourned debate, the Government promised to deliver the ‘spirit and substance’ of the Bill, and the Environment Secretary expressed personal disappointment to the Environmental Audit Committee that the Bill did not progress. This showed a welcome shift in tone, but so far, no concrete steps have followed.
Will you stand with constituents like me by signing EDM 1184 and calling on the Government to allow more time for this vital debate and a proper vote?
