I'm writing to you as your constituent and as a supporter of the Climate & Nature Bill (or 'CAN Bill').
I back the CAN Bill because...
As you know, the climate and nature crises fuel one another, and as one of the world's most nature-depleted countries, the UK Government must increase its ambition and action in line with the science.
And in our local community, we can see...
The CAN Bill offers an evidence-led statutory framework that follows the best-available science, integrates our climate and nature policies, and locks into law the UK's international climate and biodiversity obligations (that Conservative Governments signed in Paris at COP21 and Kunming-Montreal at CBD COP15).
It's our duty to protect our natural inheritance for generations to come. Protecting the beauty of our landscapes and the richness of our biodiversity is not just a responsibility; it is a core value that defines our commitment to preserving life itself.
The CAN Bill is supported by over 1,000 of the UK's most eminent climate scientists, ecologists and conservationists, who have published an open letter calling on all MPs to follow the science—and pass a Climate and Nature Act—here: https://www.zerohour.uk/can-bill-letter
That's why, as your constituent, and as a local voter, I'm asking you to hold the Government to account to deliver the ambition and action we need to see. Will you add your name in support of the CAN Bill?
I look forward to hearing from you.
