Campaign for the Climate and Nature Bill

Eastbourne, 100 days to follow the science

There’s a golden opportunity to follow the science by fast tracking the Climate and Nature Bill—one that can’t be ignored by the new Government during their first 100 days in office.

We need your help! Can you lobby your MP and ask them to prioritise the CAN Bill in the private members’ bill ballot?

Backing the CAN Bill

Josh Babarinde MP, the Lib Dem MP for Eastbourne, has pledged to support the Climate and Nature Bill, incredible!

Will you write to them and ask them to progress the CAN Bill to the next stage?

Urgent Action

In Westminster, the 2024 private members’ bill ballot has been drawn. 20 MPs who topped the ballot now have until 15 October to decide which bill to progress. But we need to act now.

That means every email sent to your MP—now—will add pressure on them to select and progress the CAN Bill.

Will you write to your MP today?

Congratulations on your recent election. I’m writing to you as your constituent and supporter of the Climate & Nature (CAN) Bill.

I back the CAN Bill because...

As you know, the climate and nature crises fuel one another, and as one of the world’s most nature-depleted countries, the UK Government must increase its ambition and action in line with the science.

Across our nations, we can see the impact of the climate-nature crisis. Sky-high energy bills. Disappearing wildlife. Draughty homes. Dirty air. Filthy rivers.

And in our local community, we can see...

The CAN Bill offers an evidence-led statutory framework that follows the best-available science, integrates our climate and nature policies, and locks, into law, the UK’s international climate and biodiversity obligations.

That’s why, as your constituent, I’m asking you to speak to your colleagues—Max Wilkinson MP and Roz Savage MP—who topped the Ballot, and ask them to commit to the CAN Bill; the viable, long-term plan to get the UK back on track. This is your Max and Roz’s chance to make history—let’s not pass up this last, best chance to tackle the climate-nature crisis.

Kindly copy [email protected] in your reply, especially if you would welcome a discussion with me and Zero Hour about the CAN Bill.

I look forward to hearing from you.
